Mindoro School is High Tech

Students of Holy Infant Academy (HIA) of Ilaya, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro enhance their experience of the world through the internet. The school, looking at how technology shapes the present and the future, invested in it to ensure it delivers one of its goals - a relevant and quality education for its students. Its latest addition is a computer laboratory dedicated to integrating classrooms instructions with technology.

The computer laboratory houses an online learning management program called Genyo. Classrooms discussions on Science, Math, English, Araling Panlipunan and Filipino come alive with Genyo's multimedia contents. And since it is online, students can continue learning even outside the classroom.

The program was developed in partnership between the country's leading educational publisher Diwa Learning Systems and Singapore's top e-learning provider Marshall Cavendish Online. Aside from its multi-media contents such as interactive quizzes, charts, colorful graphics, animations, video and audio clips, Genyo has teacher authoring tool to customize lessons, online quizzes, educational games and so much more.

HIA, which is the only parochial school in Calapan City and the first of fifteen established in Oriental Mindoro, is also the first school in Mindoro to have this high-tech learning partner.

Founded in 1937, HIA offers education in preparatory, elementary grades 1-6, and high school.
