In line with the national celebration of Nutrition Month with the theme, “Pagkain ng Gulay Ugaliin, Araw-araw itong Ihain”, Saint Joseph Institute launched its month long celebration of the said event last July 3, 2012 at the school ground.
To adhere to the national government’s goal in encouraging our young Filipinos to eat vegetables and fruits, SJI launched different activities that would promote the importance of vegetables and the increase of vegetable consumption as part of a healthy diet to address micronutrient deficiencies and non-communicable diseases. Some of these activities were Nutri-Jingle making contest, e-Poster design contest and the Healthy You suggestion contest.
The Healthy You: Best Suggestion contest is an activity that would encourage students to focus their attention on the importance of informed choices and developing sound eating and physical habits. The event, which took place last July 26, 2012 at the HS Computer Laboratory, was joined by 29 participants and was carried over through the help of DIWA Learning Systems Inc Learning Integration Specialist Mia Duazo and contest coordinators Mrs. Evelyn Ayson and Mr. Michael Lopez.
All entries were judged by Mr. Paul Alva Racimo, Ms. Roseliliy Ragmac, and Mrs. Nelda Benitez.
