October 27, 2011 – Keeping the lines open and involving the parents in their children’s Education, University of San Carlos – South Campus conducted a Genyo Experience for Parents, an event that was attended by more than a hundred parents from the Grade School department.

Recognizing the integral role of the parents in the Education of the students, the administrators of University of San Carlos – South Campus invited the parents of USC Grade School Department to let them experience Genyo e-Learning, the latest Educational resource which the school adopted as one of the steps towards a world-class ICT-integrated Education.

The event took place inside the newly-built Genyo Computer laboratory and parents were allowed to come inside the lab from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM and try the different lessons, activities, quizzes, and games inside the Genyo portal.

Some of the parents were even accompanied by their kids – an experience which even served as a Parent-Child bonding.

It is very evident that the parents enjoyed their firsthand exposure to the interactive Educational tool. Various questions about the product and the portal were also raised, all of which were answered by the Genyo team present, particularly e-Learning Specialist for Visayas Sheena Rose Asis, Diwa Learning Systems Account Sales Manager Ms. Letty Branzuela and in-house Learning Integration Specialist for USC – South Marinel Gomez. Suggestions were also given by the parents and all of these were attentively noted by the team.

An Online Evaluation was also conducted to get the insights, commendations and recommendations of the parents about the program. Responses are truly overwhelming in such that majority of the parents have positive feedback regarding the program. Parents also state that Genyo is really good because it allows them to monitor the progress of their children anytime and anywhere – even if they’re working inside the office.

Wrapping it up, USC – South’s Genyo Experience for Parents is truly a remarkable and successful activity. Thanks to the collaboration of the Genyo team, the School Administration headed by Sr. Remedios Socorro Aunzo, and of course the ever-supportive parents, working towards quality education will never be a daunting task.
