LSM: Celebrating FILIPINO MONTH the ICT-way
9/28/2011
Lourdes School of Mandaluyong HS Department opted to give a different kind of twist to their usual Buwan ng Wika celebration by integrating ICT to some of their programs.

Spearheaded by the Filipino department, LSM – HS conducted several activities and programs to remind the students of the importance and essence of the Filipino language. What makes the programs more interesting is that most of them were carried over using GENYO e-Learning, the first and the only fully integrated Learning Management System for basic Education in the Philippines

PATIMPALAK NG MAUNAWAANG PAGBASA

AUGUST 22, 2011 – Lourdesians were able to prove that despite distractions from modern media, they can still chew, digest, and embrace reading.

To test the students’ level of understanding when it comes to reading, a contest which was dubbed as Patimpalak ng Maunawaang Pagbasa was held at the school’s internet laboratory. Bookworms from different sections joined the contest, each with a common denominator – and that is their fervent love for reading. The participants were given enough time to read few selections and answer the questions that were prepared by the teachers.

After all the students submitted their work, the teachers were able to generate the result in a matter minutes. Thanks to GENYO e-Learning’s Test Builder Module, not only the students were able to answer easier and faster, but the teachers were also saved of the hassle of checking the papers individually since results were generated in a click of a button.

PATIMPALAK SA PAGSULAT NG SANAYSAY

AUGUST 23, 2011 – One of the rules for literary success, aside from reading a lot is writing a lot. In view of this fact, LSM – HS’ Filipino department promoted literary success through the Patimpalak sa Pagsulat ng Sanaysay held at the school’s internet laboratory.

The said contest aims to open the idea of the students about the following themes: Wikang Filipino: Instrumento sa Pagkakakilanlang Pilipino Tungo sa Diwang Nasyonalismo and Wikang Filipino: Tinig ng Kabataan, Daan sa Pagkakamit ng Katarungan, Wika ng Kabayanihan. Similar to the reading comprehension challenge, the essay writing contest was also carried over through the use of Genyo e-Learning, specifically its Offline Homework feature.

With the help of the teachers, students, and modern technology through Genyo e-Learning, the pride of being a Filipino is given importance and emphasis – whether it is manually or online.

Note: Winners for the said programs will be announced soon.
