Don Bosco Makati: A benchmark in excellent ICT-integrated Education
9/28/2011
Who would have thought that it was only three years ago when Don Bosco Technical Institute – Makati embraced the first and only fully integrated online Learning Management System as part of the school’s teaching pedagogy? It was only during school year 2009 – 2010 when DBTIM ensured their students with a Superior Learning Experience through ICT-integrated instruction.

Before they partnered with Genyo, DBTIM first started with benchmarking from other schools. To be exact, St. Paul Makati was Don Bosco’s point of reference. After seeing the benefits of Genyo, the school fully embarked with the program. And together with the Learning Integration and e-Learning Specialists, teachers were given continuous trainings not only of the LMS but also on how to incorporate technology to teaching; thus, preparing them to become 21st Century teachers for the classroom of the future.

With only a span of three years, DBTIM has been consistently taking the lead in integrating ICT to teaching. From scratch, DBTIM is now one of the topnotch Genyo schools nationwide. Other schools who wish to take the lead with Genyo and embrace an e-Learning system as part of their instructional materials look up to DBTIM as their model.

As proof, last September 14, 2011, the MalateCatholicSchool visited DBTIM to benchmark and to observe the Genyo classes that were taking place. They, as well, were given a quick tour of the school’s facilities and infrastructures by DBTIM’s school officials, Subject Area Heads, Diwa Learning Systems Inc’s Vice President for Sales Mr. Jun Sayson and the assigned Learning Integration Specialists JR Forteza (GS) and Ken Concepcion (HS). Throughout the visit, DBTIM shared with MCS how Genyo was able to help them in such many ways and even had a presentation regarding Genyo.

The vision – mission of Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati is capsulated into “SERVANT-LEADERSHIP AND EXCELLENCE THROUGH TECHNOLOGY WITH A SOUL”. Hence, DBTIM continues to strive and go far beyond; thanks to its educational partner, Genyo eLearning.
