He who dares to teach must never cease to learn. -- John Cotton Dana
Marikina Catholic School Gawad Genyong Guro awardee for 2010 Mr. Christopher Sanchez became an inspiration to his co-teachers as he successfully coped up with change by integrating ICT in his classroom instruction.
The awarding, which became a revelation not only for the teachers but for Mr. Sanchez as well, took place during the General Meeting participated by the school staff and faculty.
After all the school matters were discussed, Diwa Learning Systems Inc Learning Integration Specialist (HS) Erika Galanza took the opportunity to recognize the most excellent Genyo teacher for S.Y. 2010-2011. Mr. Sanchez was caught in a full surprise after his name was announced.
Gawad Genyong Guro or G3 is a yearly competition that aims to give recognition to outstanding Genyo teachers. For three years now, G3 has been producing a number of excellent Genyo teachers who are not afraid to ride with the tide and adapt with change.
Mr. Sanchez, who’s really appreciative of the prestigious award, told his co-teachers that he’s hoping that the recognition will inspire them to use Genyo more and integrate e-Learning in the classroom. Mr. Sanchez truly became an inspiration for everyone in such that right after the awarding, several teachers approached Ms. Galanza to ask about Genyo.
The Gawad Genyong Guro award seemed to power the teachers’ ICT engine and motivated them to apply Genyo in their lessons more. With this kind of dedication and drive, the search for the next Gawad Genyong Guro will definitely be something worthwhile.
