Grade school students from Don Carlo Cavina School (DCCS) in Las Piñas City participated in a writing competition carried over online through Genyo e-Learning.
Dubbed as “Timpalak sa Pagsulat ng Sanaysay”, this essay writing contest aims to showcase the students’ writing prowess and provide an avenue for them to voice out their opinions using the vernacular language. The contest theme followed the national theme in celebrating Buwan Ng Wika which is “Ang Filipino ay Wikang Panlahat, Ilaw at Lakas sa Tuwid na Landas.”
Entries are submitted through Offline Homework, a Genyo feature.
Participants consist of class representatives from Grades Four to Six and their essays were then judged by Diwa Learning Systems Inc Learning Integration Specialist Ms. Emmelyn R. Carilla, Activity Coordinator Mr. Mark Zion E. Bonda, and Filipino Coordinator Mr. Cherry G. Duka.
Christel Joyce B. Rivera bagged the first place, Angelica S. Masongsong brought home the second place and Jenella Irish S. Tubise landed on the third place. All of the participants received certificates of participation from Genyo while medals and certificates are given to the winners.
DCCS students surely enjoyed celebrating Buwan Ng Wika, most especially with this new innovation and twist in their usual Essay Writing competition. “This essay writing contest helped us in awakening our interest in writing skills using the Filipino language while experiencing e-Learning through Genyo at the same time. I enjoyed it a lot. I’ll be waiting for the next fun activities of Genyo,” said the First place winner Christel Rivera.
Thanks to Genyo e-Learning, the students’ love for the Filipino language was renewed while letting them realize the essence of Information Technology in today’s Education.
