Genyo Powers More and More Schools

Competition is becoming tighter in almost all facets of life and educational institutions are not spared from this reality. Every school has to get the best teachers with the best teaching techniques and equip them with the most up-to-date tools as well as information to give the best to their students.

With these in mind, more and more schools are using the Genyo E-Learning Management Program introduced by Diwa Learning Systems, one of the main sources of books and educational materials for Filipino students for the past 25 years.

The program is in line with the Philippine government’s strong campaign to uplift the educational system. The Department of Education has challenged schools to prepare for higher steps of learning by making the school curriculum relevant; ensuring teachers can teach using technology; engaging stakeholders to make ICT accessible and available; and creating school-based “ICT in Education” programs.

E-learning is not just complementing the traditional instructional materials with computers, internet and CD-roms. The integration of these information resources and technology to produce a fully integrated e-learning program is the tall order of the day.

The schools benefitting now from the Genyo E-Learning Management Program are Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Calamba, Colegio de Santa Rosa in Makati City, First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities in Tanauan, Our Lady of Caysasay in Batangas, Sta. Teresa College in Batangas, La Purisima Concepcion Academy in Malabon, Philippine Normal University in Manila, Saint Joseph's College in Quezon City, San Sebastian College Recoletos in Manila, San Isidro Catholic School in Manila, Roosevelt College in Rodriguez, Roosevelt College in Cainta and Sacred Heart College in Lucena.

The list of schools that are using the e-learning system and reaping the benefits from this valuable investment is growing steadily.

The core feature of Genyo is the multimedia learning software that allows the teachers to tailor-fit the curricula to their teaching styles and to the students’ needs and academic standing. The software contains Science, Math, Filipino, English and Araling Panlipunan modules.

The package also includes fast and reliable internet connectivity, a cellphone-driven homework helper and broadcast center, a teacher training program that will transform them into savvy e-learning advocates, and an all-in-one learning website for educators, teachers, students and their parents.

The newest feature of the integrated e-learning system is the Genyo Learning management system, which will allow the students to access multi-media content online.  It also lets teachers administer and record grades online.

This allows teachers to do a way with the hassle of preparing and checking exams, giving more time to focus on the essentials of learning.

The teachers who are now using the Genyo E-Learning Management Program to help them enlighten their students have noted that the program has made teaching easier and learning more interesting.

Gerardo C. Navela, a teacher from Sacred Heart College noted that the one of the reasons that block learning is the students’ tendency to get bored during lessons. “At least, Genyo will help the students to focus their attention to the lesson. It would cope with their learning style making learning and teaching more effective. It would save their time, thus, learning while having fun,” he said. “(Genyo) will not only give life to teachers but more on the part of students because it engages the development of the intelligence of students,” another teacher, Perpetua Muldog of St. Joseph’s College noted.

Schools need to revolutionize themselves to live up to the challenges of society. It is a big help that e-learning is revolutionizing the traditional classroom-style learning to bring out the best in every student.
