As part of Diwa Learning Systems Inc’s commitment of honing the skills of the teachers when it comes to ICT integration, a Teacher Training focusing on GENYO’s Learning Management System was conducted last July 11 – 14, 2011 and July 22, 2011.

The Teacher training catered teachers from the five (5) key subject areas namely Science, Mathematics, Araling Panlipunan, English and Filipino. Paco Catholic School’s Learning Integration Specialists Levie Hernandez and Juvy Formoso gave a refresher course about the ins and outs of the LMS.

The session kicked-off with a brief presentation regarding the background and importance of GENYO e-Learning, as well as its benefits to teachers and students. An intensive training of Genyo LMS’ first module, the Communication and Collaboration Module followed right after. The teachers’ excitement is apparent as they explored the features inside the Genyo portal.

Through the training, the teachers were able to fully-understand the benefits
that they could get in using the system. Ms. Yet Opena, a Science teacher remarked, “I will use the program as an additional strategy in teaching.”

Ms. Carmelita Sam, an English teacher, saw GENYO as an effective tool that can help her craft effective and engaging activities for her students. “It has different exercises and activities that I can use in my lesson,” she added. True enough, the portal is a vast repository of interesting modules, tutorials, and activities that will enrich the concepts found on books and other instructional materials.

From chalk and board to point and click, PACO teachers will definitely renew the interest of their students with the newest addition to their array of teaching materials.
